Posting
Everything follows an order. As much as you might want to jump the gun, is it unfair to others, when posting and posting and posting, leaving everyone else out. This means that you have to follow a posting order. If 3 members RP, then is the order 1, 2, 3, 1 and so on.
a.) IF the thread has multiple members in a thread, whereas not all interact with each other, is it possible to form teams, which are having their individual orders. For example thread A has 6 members on the rooftop. One little group of 3 speaks near the stair case and the other near the bench. In this case, does the first, as well as the second group have their own posting order circles.
It still would be nice to limit such cases to a reasonable number, as they tend to end in a chaos and an entire group might be totally overposted. Also think like this. Group A is near the staircase and Group B near the seats and sooner or later they rejoin each other. Wouldn't it be odd to have Group A having spoken and interacted 5 RP pages, while Group B has not done anything in the same time frame? It is impossible to follow a clear path of logic inside a Roleplay, but some level should be achievable.
b.) It should be possible to post, at least once per week. This means threads you are in and not that you thoughtlessly join 20 threads and then decide to post each week in one, having of course the RPers of the last thread waiting for 20 weeks. No one expects a manager, but being able to manage your own time, is the least someone could expect from a human being, that has grown out of kindergarten age. What if a kindergarten child wants to join? Read the Proboards Rules regarding this, first. In case the RPer is not able to post within a week, will this character be skipped over and the torch of posting, given to the next Roleplayer in the circle. It is then his or her responsibility to keep going. An excuse, that the other member's turn is not over is NOT legit. That keeps going till the thread has run out of roleplayers. In this case will the thread obviously be dead. Congratulations to everyone.
c.) It should be obvious that members who leave on a vacation, can't post etc., tell others that they are not active. It is not necessary to spill out personal things, but it should have a reason. Lack of inspiration is from my point of view not a suitable reason. It can happen and no one will eat the RPer in this case, but if this reason comes over and over again, can no one expect the other members to think much of said Roleplayer anymore. Also just coming back to post another leaving absence note, is not funny. This is not a company, where you can get fired or a school where the teachers might try to throw you out, because of a lack of attendance or 'fellow' classmates beginning to mob you, but you still have responsibilities. Please consider those, before joining. Rules are not, as strict, enforced as they may sound, but everyone will lose their patience, if this keeps going.
More importantly for this rule is, that a member who has left for a longer time can be skipped, if possible. Everyone has the right to go on a vacation and those might take 2 weeks or longer, but it should not kill a thread. Just do not post like crazy and eventually consult the inactive member what they wish to do with their character, that you could have them passively on standby and eventually mention them in the thread. It would be even nicer, if the leaving member would suggest something like this, beforehand.
d.) Watch your characters. No one, other than yourself is responsible for your characters. You should know by yourself, what might be a good thread or where your characters are in. Do not expect to find a mod or other person, playing your secretary and laying everything out to you. It is possible to ask, but seriously THINK yourself. If you are unable to have everything in your head, then the forum offers a thread for your own character logbook and you could honestly just write a simple text on your own computer, as well.
e.) You are free to open your own threads, but take a look at other threads first, before we have an endless stream of threads open. Also do we wish to involve others in our threads, right? You also need to take a good look at the following problem: Post logically ->
f.) Unfortunately is it not possible to have a plot oriented and place oriented RP running without the slightest chronological order, which is a reason why we will ask you to know when your thread takes place, in retrospect to other threads and in which area.
Keep in mind that you cannot teleport your character from one region to the other, hence it is important to know where you are and where you want to get. It will not be overly strict checked, but still. Also make sure that you are not posting in threads where your char should not be. I.E.: Natsu is careless, but he still should not be randomly found in a Dark Guild.
g.) Missions are Missions and cannot be freely opened by members. They also need to be done in teams and not solo-ing.
h.) Make sure you speak with others, about what you wish to do, if you need RP partners, have created a thread etc. Also post about your opened thread in the New Thread - Subboard.
