Sometime even the simplest of mission can turn into a time-consuming venture if one get too involved in it and lose track of his original objective. Such was the case with Doleth last mission which started out simple enough; track down and eliminate a band of outlaw who were terrorizing a town of eastern Fiore. As he was making his way back to his guild, the young mage was lost in his memory of the last few months. The first part of his quest had gone well enough and he had no problem when the time to beat up the bandits came but something the leader said about their aniki coming to avenge them left Doleth curious about this band. He could have returned home at that time, his mission complete, but the long-haired man wanted to know the truth and he secretly hoped that the mysterious aniki would provide a good fight.
Doleth got more than he wished for when he stumbled by pure chance upon a gathering of shifty looking fellows in a small out of the way inn on the outskirt of town where he was staying for the night. He was disgusted to learn by the conversation he overhead that the outlaw he just fought were part of a small but powerful criminal guild dealing in slave, forbidden spell and other illegal good and that his mission was just a punishment from one of their superior. The easily angered dark mage could not let this insult to everything he stand for go unpunished and set out to destroy these no-good rogues after he gave the thugs in front of him the beating they deserved, destroying part of the inn in the process.
It took a while and caused a lot of collateral damage in the form of destroyed building but Doleth ultimately succeed in his task and the town, while badly needing repair, is at least free of the influence of the wicked. This thought left him happy enough of the way back home that he started humming one of his favorite song, completely oblivious to the worried stare that the good citizens of Magnolia were giving him. At last, the man in the blue coat stopped in front of his beloved guild hall with his arm stretched as if he wanted to hug the building and a big smile on his face as he addressed the various Fairy Tail's mage busy rebuilding.
-Hey everyone! I'm back from my first mission! Who's up for a drink to celebrate me retur...wait, why is there so much plank lying around? Are we renovating the guild?
Doleth had been so caught up in his own adventure that he had completely missed the battle against Phantom Lord.
